Built in the early 1990’s, the Touchstone Maze is actually a labyrinth lined with major megaliths brought from quarries all over Scotland. Geology, astronomy and natural history are all integrated beautifully in this creation. Located near Strathpeffer, Ross-shire, it is well worth a visit. Ask for directions at the info kiosk at the square. It is a pleasant walk. Continue on to Knockfarrel, an ancient vitrified hill fort. See also pages 317-318 of Stone Circles (Roy).
